300, Simply Amazing, Stunning!

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

With the mighty Persian army, under the command of the Great King Xerxes, poised to sweep in and conquer Greece, a small band of 300 Spartan warriors – under the command of their King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) – must hold the pass at Thermopylae at all costs. (imdb.com)

300

Frank Miller’s 300, directed by Zack Snyder is simply an amazing and stunning film experience. The cinematography is gorgeous, the acting flawless, the directing perfect and the mood never faltering. Though there was alot a blood and alot of limbs being sliced off and bodies being skewered and hacked, the film was visually stunning and not gory…just bloody.

Gerard Butler plays King Leonidas, the leader of 300 Spartan soldiers who face battle against thousands of Persian soldiers and a few ungastly beasts, is convincing and wonderful. Lena Headey’s performance as Queen Gorgo is perfect. She’s strong and yet very subtle, commanding. I was surprised to see Dominic West, who plays Theron. You might know West as the brazen McNulty from HBO’s The Wire. The whole cast was brilliant, probably ’cause they are foreign. Let’s just say if the film was an all American cast, we might have had another cringe-worthy Troy on our hands. My stomach tunrns just thinking about that scene in Troy where Pitt looks “pensively” into the distance ala a bad soap opera moment.

And I must say, every single one of the 300 men in that film were bloody hot. I mean they were cut, legs tight, abs carved, and faces, for the most part, actually quite attractive! We also get to see Butler very lucious ass. Yeah, yeah, I know you men are cringing as you read this, but it’s high fucking time we women get to see a sea of hot men on the big screen to lust over!

Anyway, here’s a clip from the film. Enjoy, then get your asses out to theaters and watch it!
