The 40 Year Old Virgin sucked. So much hype, for what? Yet another film of dumbasses being sexist and making off-color offensive jokes that are simply not funny. I never thought Steve Carrell that funny to begin with and in this movie, he didn’t change my mind. He’s a good enough actor. The dramatic scenes were more entertaining than the comedic scenes. I liked the relationship between Andy (Carrell) and Trish (Catherine Keener). I even liked the dynamic between Andy and Trish’s daughter. Andy’s friends, the dumbasses I mentioned above, were your typical idiot, one-dimensional manchilds who you see in other stupid thoughtless movies like American Pie and Porky’s. Silly jokes that are often not even funny, just crass. I like crass, but when it’s smart and funny, not just stupid. Anyway, I say don’t rent this film. Skip it! Burn it!
