“My Blueberry Nights”, Jones and Roth?

Sunday, November 19th, 2006

It’s funny, burning some calories at the gym on the elliptical a couple of days ago, I caught a couple of minutes on the TV in front of me of some film with Tim Roth and Lisa Kudrow. I thought, I haven’t seen Tim Roth in a film in ages. Then, getting my film news fix this morning, I read in the New York Times that director Wong Kar-wai (2046, Chunking Express) is directed Roth and Norah Jones (and other notables) in My Blueberry Nights coming to theaters in 2007. Even stranger is the fact that Kar-wai created My Blueberry Nights as a vehicle for Ms Norah Jones, the singer, not actress. I like Jones a great deal as a singer, but never seen her act. But, the film also stars Jude Law (tasty) and Rachel Weisz. Two actors I like to watch. So, given Kar-wai’s talent as a director, I say, why not Ms Jones. Some directors can get talent where there is none or draw talent out that’s remained dormant.

Anyway, here’s more on the pending Blueberry film.
