Bush Gets Assasinated in “Death of a President”

How alluring is that title? I’ve always imagined something like this happening. Not as a wish, but as an inevitability. But, best leave it to studios to stir the imagination rather than torturing myself with such thoughts. Newmarket Films bought US rights to Death of a President, a UK film which was the most controversial film at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. Newmarket is set to give the film a wide release in the coming months in the US. Though, if you’re lucky enough to live in the UK, it will air on TV in October.
Director Gabriel Range’s film depicts the assassination of President George Bush mixes faux-documentary and real footage to make the film feel more real. The films depicts the impact of the assasination of the president. The film doesn’t advocate violence or sensationalize anti-Bush sentiments. It’s a reflection of the way the world is now. He used the same approach in a 2003 film, The Day Britain Stopped, about the effects of the complete shutdown of England’s transportation system.
