I did find it a little disturbing and uncomfortable at times. Its interesting to watch middle aged ladies reaction to some of the scenes. The Shawshank Redemption is terrific. I'am not too old movie fan, in fact, this movie appeared whenI was very young, and hence I am to a greater extent accustomed films with marvellous special effects, edge-of-your-seat action, et cetera. This film has none of that, and nevertheless, it attracts me really much . Way Frank Darabont uses the narration of Red to drive on the tale, the beauty of the film music utilized (note the mouth harp used just before Red getting the letter close to the end). The entire film, from beginning to closing, from actions to music, is a lighthouse of hope, assessment, and redemption. The cast is pure, Morgan Freeman(Red) actually brings about a fresh feel to the tale, and that is exactly what the movie is, what a film should be. Really recommended for each film fan.
