This is the second film in a week that I saw with Jennifer Anniston co-starring. Derailled, like The Break-Up, was a pleasant surprise. Action films are getting smarter, less ridiculous and more intriguing every year. Derailed is a great film. Clive Owen and Jennifer Anniston star as Charles Schine and Lucinda Harris, who set out to have an affair (both are married) but end up being attacked in the hotel room where they begin their liason and are later blackmailed for money in exchange for keeping the secret of their affair. The best part of this movie is that it has a twist, which I won’t reveal, that makes this film fabulous.

At first the film seemed typical and perhaps a bit predictable. But then the twist is revealed and the dynamic of the film just changes adn everything just pops into place. Owen and Anniston have great chemistry. The film never lags. The writing is smart. The acting all around is great. Melissa George plays Owen’s wife Deanna. You may remember George as Lauren Reed from TV’s Alias. Anyway, Derailed is definitely a film worth renting. Rent it! Love it!
