This may be Guest’s last satire, according to him, so hope it’s a good one! The plot: “Three actors learn their respective performances in the film “Home for Purim,” a drama set in the mid-1940s American South, are generating award-season buzz.” Guest has mocked the small town midwestern life, dog shows, folk and rock music industries. Why not Hollywood?! Some of the usual Guest faithfuls appear in For Your Consideration including Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Fred Willard. But some new fun faces will make this film, perhaps, even more amusing, namely Ricky Gervais (The Office and Extras), Sandra Oh (Sideways and Grey’s Anatomy) and Rachel Harris.
