I just saw a trailer for Hot Fuzz last saturday when I went to see 300. Although I new about the film, I’d yet to see the trailer. Unlike Shawn of the Dead which also stars Simon Pegg and is also directed by Edgar Wright and which I did not find funny nor entertaining on any level, Hot Fuzz looks quite fun with the good old fashion Brit-wit I love so much. The English are generally good with spoofs, Americans not so much. So, along comes Magicians, a spoof about two magicians who begin as friends but become enemies when one, well, cuts the head off the other’s assistant. The trailer looks genuinely hilarious. There are obvious correlations between The Prestige specifically in that like in The Prestige one wants revenge on the other and both compete against each other to see who is the better or best magician. I can’t wait to see it. Don’t know when it will be released in the states. But I hope soon!
