Netflix “Browse Instant” Increasing Good Selection of Instant Movies To Watch Online

Every week or so I check Netflix’s “Browse Instant” (previously titled “Watch it Now”) page for new additions to their library of free (for members) movies to watch instantly online. When this feature was new the selection of films to watch were quite sad and insulting since most were B-movies or just plain crap with the occasional good classic or surprisingly good mainstream or independent film thrown in. Now, these days, Netflix’s selection of instant movies to watch online are  quite good.
Recently they’ve added such titles like Basketball Diaries, Mommie Dearest, Celluloid Closet, Gilda and more very watchable films to the collection. I have noticed also a recent trend in their additions. A couple of weeks back, I switched my sturdy office chair for my very comfortable wingback chair, dimmed the lights, through a throw over my legs which I propped up on my office chair and settled in for a night of action in front of my large computer screen to watch Speed on Netflix.

It’s quite cool and fun to watch some of those films like Speed, Outbreak, Legends of the Fall, A League of Their Own and so forth from the 90s that I liked back then for free and online rather than having to use up precious queue space on films I’ve already seen years ago. They’ve also got a growing selection of TV series including newer TV series. Some TV series include Sliders (I know!), Coumbo, Charles in Charge, Weeds, Sleeper Cell (both fantastic seasons!!), The Office (both US and UK versions, as well as a nice collection of British TV mini series like The Way We Live Now and The Duchess of Duke Street, which I highly recommend!

If you’re a Netflix member, you should definitely take advantage of this feature of your membership with Netflix! If you’re not a Netflix member, you’re mad! What are you waiting for?
