“Nine Lives” of women written by a man?
Thursday, September 21st, 2006Come on! Nine Lives was just as bad as the director’s previous similar 2000 film Things You Can Tell Just By Looking at Her. Heavy handed, stereotypical characters saying typical things men expect to hear from “mothers”, “daughters” and “wives”. I saw Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her. The title says it all. The assumptions were ridiculous. The women in both films are always objects impregnated, care-takers and other typical “roles” of women. Mr. Rodrigo Garcia needs to concentrate on his own sex and not assume he knows that much about women or their “roles” in life as if they’re predetermined, typical or common among all of us. Don’t just skip this film, burn it…if you get the chance!
