Michael Clayton was basically a very well directing, smartly written, and well acted John Grisham-like novel, unlike most actual John Grisham novels-turned-movies like The Rainmaker or The Client.

Though I thought the first half hour failed in its attempt to be a sort of subtle spool of plot development that reels you in, it was an ok movie. For some reason, I expected more from the story line because the cast including Clooney and Tulda Swinton, and the directing was so smart. I probably should have just expected less. Also, Tom Wilkinson’s character was quite annoying and over-developed. If that’s possible.

Anyway, I thought Clayton’s good enough to rent, but worth a full price movie-ticket, not so much.
